In this chapter I found how “Learning to Be a Woman”. A woman is not born a woman, even when she marries a man, bears a child not even when she joins a woman’s liberation movement.
A woman becomes a woman when she becomes what God wants her to be.
Most of Christian women think that love, marriage, and motherhood are the fulfillment in life, so do I before I really know what woman of Christ should do. Fulfillment for every Christian woman begins with the Lordship of Christ in everything she does in life.
When we, woman, were a kid, we ussually listened and wacthed fairy tales about loving couple that live happily ever after. And then dreams about that life happen to us when we grow up and hoping a man takes us and live that dream together. But acctually become a Christian woman, we should take Jesus first as our personal heavenly Bridegroom, and then wait with confident that, if it be God’s will, He will provide us with an earthly bridegroom.
“I belong to the Lord, body and soul…let it happen as you say “ (Luke 1:38), that’s what Mary said when she was a single woman, was given a most difficult assignment. And that attitude exactly how we should do when we decide to put Jesus first. Entrust our body, soul, and dreams to Jesus. Cause when you trust and believe Him as your personal Lord, you can walk in the path of life that He has planned for you.
Becomes a Lady of Reckless Abandonment, this book take Ruth as an example, there are 3 areas of Ruth’s life that were affected by her reckless abandoment to God:
But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God” (Ruth 1:16).
1. New Friends
Ruth once told Naomi, “your people shall be my people”, this show us that Ruth understood that she would’t be able to grow closer to God of Israel unless she lived with them, Israel. In life we have some people that we call ‘friends’, either who makes us closer to God or away from God. Once we decided to put Jesus first we need people who will encourage us to be closer to Him, cause who walk with the wise grows wise (Prov 13:20). But it doesn’t make us away from people who didn’t put Jesus first, just consider the influence of friends about our comitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We mirror those who influence us, when a woman stops growing spiritually, it maybe because of her friendship that undermined her commitment to Jesus, I ever in this situation. When I feel that my spiritual relationship with God ups and down even sometimes stagnant. And then I realize the cause is I’m drown on my own friendship which didn’t encourage me to growth.
2. New Surroundings
Ruth had to relocate because she wanna be fed spiritually. Like Ruth do, sometimes we have to relocate and change our surrounding to something that will stimulate our growth in the Lord. We have to be open to a change thay may benefit our spiritual growth. Part of reckless abandonment is realizing how much our culture has affected our behavior patterns. Be a Christlike we have to forsake the world like Ruth do, she had to forsake the familiar and comportable in order to receive God’s best for her life.
3. New Faith
“I desired that my relationship with the Lord be an adventure.
One where I would find out what pleased Him and then do it, devoting as much energy to Jesus as I would in a relationship with a boyfriend. I am falling more in love with Jesus every day.”
That’s how a single woman in this book expressed a vital relationship with Jesus.
Dividends From a High Price
“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for My sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.” (Matthew 19:29 NIV).
Ruth’choice for her life was costly, but she receive much more than she invest. Begin a whole new life with God made Ruth got “hundred times as much”, godly husband, a son who would be the grandfather of King David and in the end the lineage of Jesus Christ. She wanted and do God’s will, not hers; His blueprints, not her; God’s assignment, not her foolish plans.
The Missing Puzzle Piece
“For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the had over all rule and authority.” (Colossians 2:9-10)
A career, a marriage, and even motherhood can’t totally satisfy us, woman. God knows that we, woman, will never be complete until we really understand that we are complete in Jesus. The process of reckless abandoment to Jesus does any woman ever finally understand that, in Jesus, she is complete.
When two singles get married and they understand that their fullness is found in Jesus, they will begin to complement one another. Married couple never be complete each other. Man and woman were not created to complete another, but to complement. Completion is Jesus’s responsibility and complementing is a woman’s privilege.
Satisfied By a Heavenly Fiancé
Ruth had just such a determined heart, and the Lord honored her faith to move away from her past and take a journey toward the completely unknown. She did not use the excuse of a dark past to keep her from a bright future that began with her first critical choice: reckless abandonment to Jesus Christ. Mediocrity relationship with God should we put behind us; courageously choose to pursue Jesus with our whole heart, soul, and mind.
Becoming a Lady in Waiting begins with reckless abandoment to Jesus. The strength and discipline necessary to be a Lady of Diligence, Faith, Virtue, Devotion, Purity, Security, Contentment, Conviction, and Patience is discovered in this radical way to our heavenly Bridegromm.
